Jerina-1 (J1) missile - Next-Generation Technologies System
Jerina-1 (J1) is 400mm, modern guided surface-to-surface missile system that integrates next-generation technologies to deliver superior combat performance. Belonging to the class of tactical ballistic missiles, this multiple guided launch rocket system (MLRS) provides extremely rapid response and target tracking capabilities, enabling thus engagement of time-critical targets such as military bases, airports, ports and port facilities, important transport hubs, and intersections, factories and other significant stationary land objects at distances of up to 280 km. As a part of a self-propelled multiple launch weapon “Šumadija”, the missile is launched from a multi-barrel container-type launcher placed on a transport launch vehicle of high manoeuvrability. This is the joint development programme of Serbian, state-owned company, Yugoimport SDPR J.P. and EDePro. | Powered by a solid-propellant rocket motor, the missile comes with a high-explosive fragmentation type of warhead, with a total weight of 200 kg furnished with a contact and proximity fuse. Scalability of the system allows integration of thermobaric and other 200kg types of the warhead. The system relies on a high-precision Inertial navigation System (INS), and North Finder, along with the capability of GPS integration. Autopilot's input data is calculated based on a comparison of reference trajectory and real trajectory. The power supply section is designed to ensure electrical power for the whole mission. With 1800m/s of maximum in-flight speed and a combination of modern technologies in every aspect of the system, Jerina-1 is synonymous with today’s combat superiority. |
