ALAS XX Officially Deployed in Serbian Army
A breakthrough for EDePro’s 5th-Generation precision strike system 26 September, 2025Belgrade, Serbia — EDePro, a leading innovator in next-generation precision strike technologies in South-Eastern Europe, proudly announces the official deployment of its next-gen cruise missile system, ALAS XX, into the Serbian Armed Forces. This milestone follows the successful completion of formal acceptance trials and the launch of serial production for core subsystems, underscoring EDePro’s commitment to reliability, innovation, and scalable defence manufacturing.
As part of the joint ALAS program with Yugoimport SDPR, official acceptance trials were conducted in April 2025 to verify operational readiness and integration within Serbia’s defence framework. The Technical Test Center (TOC), the Serbian Army’s military scientific research institution, conducted the acceptance trials and executed four successful live firings against static armoured targets.
The ALAS XX delivers long-range precision effects at up to 25 kilometres and features man-in-the-loop control for real-time target discrimination and mid-course updates against high-value or time-sensitive targets. Its sensor suite integrates advanced electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) seekers with day/night thermal imaging for high-precision target detection and tracking. A dual communications architecture via secure fibre-optic cable or radio link as a backup - ensures mission flexibility across varied terrain and in contested electromagnetic environments.
Optimized for modular force integration, ALAS XX is fielded with Serbian artillery units on the self-propelled modular launcher MLRS M-18 OGANJ, Serbia’s first artillery weapon capable of firing missiles. This multi-purpose surface-to-surface system enables both anti-tank missions and precision strikes against a wide range of light surface targets, expanding the tactical options available to Serbian Forces.
Originally introduced as a project at IDEX 2014 and showcased most recently at IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi, the ALAS system has been recognized for its range, precision, and dual-role flexibility. Building on the 2024 start of serial production for critical subsystems, EDePro has now transitioned the program from development to full operational deployment.
“ALAS XX is the product of a multi-year joint program with Yugoimport SDPR - from design to deployment - delivering a next-generation capability that advances Serbia’s defense modernization and regional security” said Predrag Miloš EDePro’s Deputy GM, noting that its modular architecture, man-in-the-loop capability, and resilient communications make it well-suited to the dynamic requirements of modern warfare.
EDePro’s R&D team continues to expand the ALAS family, including the ongoing development of ALAS-C, a multi-purpose coastal defence missile, and the A50 surface-to-surface missile with a range of 50 km.
With acceptance trials completed and series production underway, the ALAS XX missile is fully operational and officially deployed within the Serbian Armed Forces as of September 2025.
