Jerina-1 (J1) missile – Next-Generation Technologies System
Jerina-1(J1) is a 400 mm, modern surface-to-surface missile system that integrates next-generation technologies and puts in excellent performance. Belonging to the class of tactical ballistic missiles, this multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) has a rapid response and target tracking capabilities, which enable the engagement of time-critical targets, such as military bases, airports, ports and port facilities, transport hubs, intersections, factories, as well as other key stationary land objects - at distances of up to 280 km. As a part of the self-propelled multiple-launch system “Šumadija”, the missile is launched from a multi-barrel container-type launcher, placed on a highly-manoeuvrable transport vehicle. This resulted from the joint development programme between EDePro and Yugoimport-SDPR, a Serbian state-owned company. | Powered by a solid-propellant rocket motor, the missile includes a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, with a mass of 200 kg, along with a contact and proximity fuse. The system’s scalability allows the integration of thermobaric and other warheads of the same mass. The system relies on a high-precision inertial navigation system (INS) and the North Finder, capable of integrating with the GPS. The autopilot’s input data are calculated based on the comparison of reference and real trajectories. The power supply section is designed to ensure electrical power throughout the mission. With a maximum flight speed of 1800 m/s and modern technology included in every part of the system, Jerina-1(J1) is the prime example of today’s combat superiority. |
